1. What is The Résumé Studio’s writing process?
Jared specializes in highly customized work that focuses on tough projects. This means intense discovery, iterative writing, and consultative work, directly with his clients. Final drafts generally take 2-3 weeks to achieve, and reflect an intake process that blends a questionnaire with 2-5 working phone calls per client. A customization training webinar is available at the end of every project. TOP
2. How long will it take to complete my résumé?
2-3 weeks. TOP
3. Will my new résumé be customizable?
The upper third of the first page is easily customized to match variable job description attributes. This assures that your resume submissions are always timely, targeted, and in line with what a hiring manager or recruiter is looking for. Once hashed out, the rest of the resume can usually remain static, so you don’t have to reinvent the wheel with every response. TOP
4. How much will it cost?
Visit our “fees” page for complete details. Jared’s years of experience and high demand align with your professional level of accountability, position title(s), job search goals, and project complexity to set fair prices. Fees are also set considering market price and output, Jared’s success rates with past clients, and good old fashioned time spent gathering data and writing perfect documents. TOP
5. How will my new résumé be delivered?
Master drafts are delivered by email as Microsoft Word documents. Clients are encouraged to keep master versions intact, creating a targeted resume for each submission. Hard copies are available upon request via standard US mail. See Fees: Delivery Options. TOP
6. What if I'm unhappy with my new résumé?
Jared is confident that it will. However, each project is backed by his Performance Guarantee, meaning he will (a) write until you are happy, and (b) circle back around with you to help if the documents are not getting attention. His reputation and integrity are most important, and he works hard to ensure that every client feels heard and supported during a time that can be confusing and challenging. Jared’s Performance Guarantee assumes that you will also do your part in the iterative writing process, and that you will customize every document before submission. Blasting out 100 resumes to 100 random opportunities and hoping for the best does not fall within Jared’s Performance Guarantee. TOP
7. What if The Résumé Studio isn’t familiar with my industry?
At this point, Jared has written for every career level and nearly every industry. However, it is not necessary to be familiar with every industry or sector to write a highly strategic resume. You are the best resource when it comes to knowing the key pieces that make your industry / sector move in the world. Jared’s interview process and questionnaire will be aligned with your target job descriptions to organize and present the elements that make your unique resume work. Jared’s expertise is in organizing and packaging your expertise in a transformative way. TOP
8. Who is in The Résumé Studio's network of résumé writers?
As an active member of The National Resume Writers’ Association, Jared has a lively and ready group of resume writing colleagues and experts with whom to share resources, ideas, and best practices -- and to whom he refers work from time to time. TOP
9. What other job search services does The Résumé Studio offer?
Jared offers job search coaching in person or by phone, addressing traditional and electronic job search strategies as well as offering resources to job seekers and career changers. He also offers ancillary documents such as cover letters, LinkedIn bios, executive / narrative biographies, acceptance letters, thank you letters, resignation letters, reference letters, and more. Check out his fees page for details, or get in touch directly. Jared highly recommends “The Harvard Business School Guide to Finding Your Next Job,” by Robert S. Gardella. TOP
